Unlike American worm gear clamps, which have cut-out perforations, the smooth band of the German clamp prevents the soft elastomer hose from extruding or shearing under high assembly torque, making it ideal for high-pressure cooling lines.
W1 refers to fully galvanized carbon steel. W2 uses stainless steel for the band and housing, but employs a galvanized carbon steel screw. W4 is completely manufactured from 304 grade stainless steel, while W5 is made from 316 grade stainless steel, providing the highest corrosion resistance for marine applications.
