Demystifying Stainless Steel Magnetism

A common diagnostic misconception is that magnetic stainless steel indicates poor material grade. In industrial fastening, the truth is opposite: magnetism is a sign of high hardness and superior tensile strength.

Our hose clamps are manufactured utilizing high-end austenitic grades (201, 301, 304, and 316). Initially, these raw alloys are completely non-magnetic. However, to guarantee the required clamping force and mechanical performance, the metal undergoes cold-rolling. This compression structure introduces minor magnetic phases (martensite transformation). This ensures our clamps achieve maximum yield strength, resisting structural deformity under peak stress.
